Farmacological Therapy
- Oral – myorelaxants, anticonvulsants and psychostimulants.
They are applied mainly to the children with CP and convulsions. The myorelaxants
has limited application, mainly to children with significantly increased muscular
tone in process of independent walking or these who stand on the whole feet
but walk on toes. The psychostimulants has limited application for children
with retarded psychical processes or for those in process of learning to walk
or speak.
- Intramuscular - Botulinum Toxin A
Used for children in the process of independent walking or already walking.
They have to have saved volume of passive movements in the joints, which muscles
will be treated. The effect is extremely rapid and distinct, as it lasts for
6 to 12 months.
